Annie Figenshu to Host Live Session on How Businesses Can Simplify Their Marketing Message to Increase Customer Engagement


Downstage Media will host a live virtual session,How to Talk About Your Business So People Actually Buy, on June 4 at 2 PM ET. The session is designed for founders, consultants, and B2B business owners who want to simplify how they talk about their work so customers understand it faster and are more likely to take action.

The workshop is based on the StoryBrand Soundbite Strategy, a messaging framework developed by Donald Miller and taught to Annie Figenshu during multiple StoryBrand training events in Nashville. Figenshu is a StoryBrand Certified Guide who has trained more than 50 StoryBrand Guides and helped businesses across industries simplify their messaging and marketing.

“Most businesses aren’t losing customers because they’re bad at what they do,” said Figenshu, Owner of Downstage Media. “They’re losing customers because their marketing is too hard to understand. The more experienced you are, the easier it is to accidentally over-explain.”

During the live session, attendees will learn how to reduce “cognitive load” in their marketing by creating clearer, more repeatable talking points for websites, sales conversations, presentations, social media, and email campaigns. Participants will also receive a downloadable Soundbite Strategy worksheet to help apply the framework to their own businesses after the session.

“Every day customers stay confused is a day they move on to someone easier to understand,” Figenshu said. “We’re not trying to make businesses sound clever. We’re trying to make them easier to follow, easier to remember, and easier to buy from.”
